1980
02:45
|
|||
Been dedicated to this path,
But the work creates a black math.
Been working hard in good faith,
But I learned that nothing is safe.
My life in a thankless hand.
What I give, it grinds it to sand.
Seen my dreams all turn to black,
But a life's what you make it, there's no turning back.
Take me back to 19.
Take me back to 1980.
Seen dirt rise from the ground.
White shoes, a new path I've found.
My dreams and my mistakes,
When you live so intense with so much at stake.

Salt
03:30
|
|||
My legs have walked, all through my mind.
They're hard as rocks stuck in the sea.
Where once was life, an empty lake.
By shoreline sun, where life begun.
My scattered memory lays in my hands.
It's fragments linger producing cuts.
I bleed it out, remembering.
I make my peace, I free the beast.
Don't salt the earth.
So nothing grows.
Your time will come.
That fate will show.
My legs have walked, all through your mind.
They're hard as rocks stuck in the sea.
Where once was life, an empty lake.
By shoreline sun, where life begun.

First Frost
02:16
|
|||
I felt the first frost, on my tongue.
I numb my senses, my iron long.
My words, just a monologue,
In a meaningless play.
I felt the first frost, on my hands.
My fingers frozen, to my glands.
Until you started to,
Warm my soul with your touch.
I felt the first frost disappear.
Without a trace, without a fear.
It hit, it hit the floor,
And melted on concrete,
Where your and my feet meet.

Sun
03:18
|

A poisoned mind is always found, with a poisoned heart.
Like rain into a river, it floods and plays it's part.
How long until this iceberg is completely submerged.
It only takes one turn for it's edge to converge.
A poisoned mind pays no mind, to age or time.
Like a convict in a cell, you'll regret your crime.
How long until this iceberg is completely submerged.
It only takes one turn for it's edge to diverge.
Don't block out the sun today, don't block out the sun.

Two Way Street
02:36
|
|||
My windows to the soul, shatter into infinity.
It's pieces scatter all around,
Leaving shards of my memory.
It's a two way street where you and I meet,
And I'm behind this glass screen.
You clean your side but my perspective depends on how I clean.
My inner voice of reason has long debates with it's self.
Let's write a happy ending.
Before we put this book on the shelf.

Dream
03:13
|
|||
You know I'll never know exactly where the time goes.
Like an asteroid in the sky, it sails away, inflamed, to die.
But my eyes, can't forget the sight.
Of your hands, saying you're alright.
And if you don't mind, I don't mind,
So won't you let me inside.
Love your life, I'm doing fine.
I reach out but cannot touch, all that I wanted so much.
Like a child needing praise, I searched for validation in new ways.
It was all a dream, but it felt so real.
